Stretch Wrap Audit Checklist

A one-page checklist for auditing wrapped loads at the dock: containment, film condition, tail, pallet fit and machine settings, with a shift log.

What is on the checklist

  1. Containment: push the top corner of three loads. A well-wrapped load moves as one piece.
  2. Film condition: look for tears, holes and thin spots at the corners and the top.
  3. Film tail: check the end of the film is sealed and not loose.
  4. Pallet fit: confirm the load sits square, with no overhang that catches the film.
  5. Machine settings: confirm pre-stretch and tension match the film on the roll.

It also includes a shift log to track results, so repeated problems show up early. Read the full method in our five-minute wrap quality audit article.

Answers

Common questions

How often should I run the audit?
Every shift is best. Sample three to five loads, which takes about five minutes.
Who should run it?
A shift lead or trained operator who knows what a good wrap looks like.
Do I need special tools?
No. A hand to push the load and the log sheet are enough.
