Pre-Stretched Film for Easier Hand Wrapping

Film that is stretched during manufacturing, so it arrives lighter, applies with less effort by hand, and wastes less. The film-saving benefits of stretching without owning a machine, delivered across Houston at the best price in the market.

What is pre-stretched film?

Pre-stretched film is stretch wrap that has already been elongated at the factory instead of at the point of use. Because the stretching is done in manufacturing, the roll arrives thinner and much lighter, so an operator can wrap a load with far less pulling effort and cover more pallets per roll than with conventional hand film. It is the simplest way to capture real film savings in a hand-wrap operation without buying a machine.

Why hand-wrap teams choose it

  • Lighter rolls, easier to carry and control while walking the load.
  • Less pulling effort, so wrapping is faster and easier on operators' hands and arms.
  • More coverage per roll, because much of the stretch is already built in.
  • Less waste and tearing, with more predictable, consistent application.

Pre-stretched film vs. powered pre-stretch

The two are not the same. A powered wrapper stretches conventional machine film in real time, right before it wraps the load, and can reach very high stretch levels for the lowest cost per pallet. Pre-stretched film moves that stretching back to the factory, so you get a big share of the same film-saving benefit by hand, with no machine to buy or maintain. Think of it as the bridge between standard hand film and a full powered system.

Is it right for you?

Pre-stretched film is ideal when you wrap by hand, want to cut film use and operator fatigue, and are not ready to invest in equipment. If your pallet volume keeps climbing, moving to a semi-automatic wrapper with machine film will drive cost per pallet lower still, and we can help you make that jump when the numbers make sense.

Pre-Stretched Film FAQs

What is pre-stretched film?
Pre-stretched film is stretch wrap that has already been elongated during manufacturing rather than at the point of use. The roll arrives thinner and lighter, so an operator wraps a load with much less pulling effort and gets more coverage from each roll than with conventional hand film.
How is it different from powered pre-stretch on a machine?
A powered wrapper stretches conventional machine film in real time, right before it hits the load, and can reach very high stretch levels. Pre-stretched film is stretched at the factory instead, so you capture much of that film-saving benefit by hand, without owning a machine. For high daily volume a machine still yields the lowest cost per pallet.
Who should use pre-stretched film?
It's ideal for hand-wrap operations that want lighter rolls, easier application, and less film waste but aren't ready for a machine. It's also easier on operators because it takes far less force to pull. If your volume grows, we can move you onto a wrapper and machine film.
